Day 24 - time for Harry to go home to Newcastle
Harry slept over at Kauri St with the cousins last night and then went for a swim at Oak Flats pool after breakfast.
We hopped on the train at OF - got to the station and caught the early train after rushing from the ticket machine, which was playing up, without a ticket for Harry - hopefully no transit officers on board!
We met Katrina at Central and they headed off on their train and me to OF, back in time for afternoon tea.
My photo today is little Harry having a snooze on the train......

Day 23 - their last swim
We have had a lovely time camping at Shoalhaven Heads.
The kids have eaten, scooted, played and swum for the two days.
The first day we had nice weather, not too hot and then the next day we got a wetting - twice - in the evening so ended up having dinner in the close by camp kitchen.
Kaelan went home with his mum and then came back next morning with his dad! LOL.
Anyhow, this is their last swim before we headed home.

Day 22 - Setting up camp at Shoalhaven Heads
We set off from the Rail about 10.30 and after a change of co-pilot
at Gerringong, we arrived at our caravan park Tall Timbers at about
11.30 and started to set up camp.
We discovered there were 'lots of wasp nests Mardie!' in the
trees above the stretchers!

Catch up - Day 21 - Exploring Darling Harbour

We met up at Hungry Jacks at Central and set out on foot for Darling Harbour via China Town. I just had to take a pic of the family under the pink Crepe Myrtle in front of the very pink shop.
Brad was upset that he was too early to buy a custard puff!
Then on via the light rail to the Fish Markets for a yummy lunch before heading of in our opposite directions.
Day 20 - up to Sydney to collect Harry
We had a nice day at China Town, Darling Harbour and then the fish markets.
But it was time for a rest in the train on the way home .....

Day 19 Baby is growing up....
Thank goodness it's been a cooler day.
Nice time chilling out with my ScqIllawarra friends at OFBC.
Today's pic is of Chloe - resting on the chair beside me.
She is growing up - almost 6mths old now.

Day 18 - what a stinker!
It's been such a hot day - it was 46 this afternoon.
Goodness knows what plants we have lost in the garden.
I've had the birds draped in wet towels and in the garage with the fan on them.
The southerly came through about 6.30pm with some relief.
Guess we'll discover the damage tomorrow when we go outside to investigate, it was too hot to go out today. Poor veggies hope they will pick up after this evenings drink.
Thank goodness for the air conditioner.

Day 16 - mastering the "fuzzy" water effect.
I have played for a while to get it just right and think I've got it!
A small aperture and a slow shutter speed with low light and voila.
I'm told that now you don't have to wait for the low light, just use a neutralising filter so I've bought a 'fader' but have yet to try it.
This first shot was taken of a stream near the Avoca Mill in Ireland and the second one in the Roman baths at Bath.

Day 15 at Bass Point
We had a great day with the kids.
After lunch we headed out to Bass Point and found a handy rock pool.
Maureen and I sat in our folding chairs on the sand with the dogs and watched the kiddos throwing rocks and making splashes!
Great fun.

Day 11 - camping at Moss Vale
Well I was very happy with how the van went up the Macquarie Pass and back down via the Jamberoo Mountain Rd.
Looks like the deisel is pretty fuel efficient, the fuel guage is just under full still.
Bed comfortable and all the powerpoints seem to be working ok.
Just add the salad servers (which I had forgotten) and we'll be ready for our camp with the grandies at Shoalhaven Heads later in the month.

Heading for Moss Vale - day 10
Well we made it up the pass no problems!
Temperature gauge stayed under half way and we sailed along at a great rate.
Had a curry pie for lunch at the pie shop at Robbo.
I think we can adequately manage the grandies to camp in style at Shoalhaven Heads in a couple of weeks.
Maybe the photo of our camp will be tomorrow's photo.
Today's is at the Pie Shop.

Wednesday 9th - Sunset by the Lake Day 9
Horribly hot Tuesday 8th January Day 8
Today's photo of the house was taken at about 645am as I walked the dogs before breakfast.
It was eerie and hot and still.
Did it feel this way because of the hype and numerous text messages warning us of the expected catastrophic fire conditions?

Monday 7th - onto Antibiotics Day 7
Off to the doc again today - I am thoroughly sick of this
sore throat - literally!
My photo for today is our new found picnic spot just down the road at Jerrara Dam.

Not looking forward to tomorrow's prediction of 43 degrees.

Sunday 6th - Creepy! Day 6
Saturday 5th - Surf School - Day 5
Out with the old and in with the new!
Goodbye to Camper 1 - I swapped my Subaru for her last year

And Hullo to Camper Number 2.
She's the same year model but is much more swish!
Done 100,000 less ks, is a deisel and the fit out is much more user friendly we hope!

Friday 4th - we investigate a picnic site - Day 4
Our day in Sydney - 3rd January - Day 3
We decided it was time for a $2.50 day out.
On the train at Oak Flats and 2 hours later we're in our beautiful city of Sydney.
Hopped off at Martin Place and walked down to the Quay - first stop Customs House to see a display of photo's of Fred Hollows - a bit disappointing as there were only a few there.
I'm always facinated with the model of Sydney under the glass floor.

We then discovered you can't get the ferry to Birkenhead Pt so we took a 500 bus.
Had a walk around the factory outlets and a nice lunch overlooking the harbour.
Then back to the city for a walk arounf the QVB.

The patterns of the QVB - thank goodness it wasn't bulldozed - what a treasure.
Those Baroque pearls cost more that the camper!
