PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 210 - 30th July 2014 .... Lost

We have lost our palms - no more flying foxes and no more dropping seeds - yea!
And we have had the tops taken out of the trees on the side boundary.
Safer when it's windy!

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 200 - 20th July 2014 .... Moment

This is the moment ...
When Pt Kembla's landmark - the Stack from the copper smelter came down.
Not my photo's but there were plenty of others waiting with their camera's - thar she blows!
A job well done - she fell neatly away from the surrounding houses.
From the 'port' side...

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 199 - 19th July 2014 .... Curly

The two 'boys' Woofy and Scrabble.
Woofman has curly hair when he isn't clipped.

But not quite as curly as Dudley - he's a very handsome Groodle who belongs to my SA friend Cathy.
He loves chasing his ball at the beach - only trouble is it sinks when he tries to retrieve it!
What a great shot eh? Wish I could claim it as mine but alas it's not but I can still enjoy it.

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 198 - 18th July 2014 .... Admire

I admire these 'old girls' - Nina and Monica (on the outside) are 80 and my mate Maureen is 79.
They were Prefects together at school at St Scholastica's College in Sydney.
Friends still - how many years on???

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 197 - 17th July 2014 ... Sunshine

  1. Sunshine is a 2007 British science fiction horror thriller film directed by Danny Boyle. The film was adapted from a screenplay written by Alex Garland about the crew of a spacecraft on a dangerous mission to the Sun. Wikipedia
:-( I have no Sunshine pics on my Ipad.
So I did a Google search - doesn't look like my kind of movie.
Might find some sunshine here tomorrow ...

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 195 - 15th July 2014 ... Torn

Today my girls are 32 .... We are all getting older!
I'll find have to picture of them. Here they are ....
But today's challenge - I am torn to chose which photo to add today
but have chosen this one ...
I repaired this dog bed after it was TORN by the lovely Jack - Harry's dog.
Only to have it TORN again by this little miss!
I stitched up again and I think it is still surviving.

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 194 - 14th July 2014 .... Old School

Can't seem to locate my school photos tonight and I have lent my magazines to a friend.

So here's what I could find on the web. Our school badge and an article on the schools official opening in 1964. It started off with only two years, I was in the first 1st year in 1960, the second years did their 1st year at Narrabeen Boys High school.
Manly Girls’ High School was officially opened fifty years ago, on 17th March 1964, by the Hon Catherine Sidney, daughter of the Governor-General of Australia, Viscount De L’Isle.  The building of the school was completed in 1959, and the first girls came to the school in February 1960, but for some reason the official opening took place later, by which time some of the original enrolment had left the school!Miss Sidney commented that she had very little experience of school, having been taught at home by a governess since the age of nine, but she urged the pupils “Use your opportunities and be grateful for them.”  Pictured at the opening ceremony are Miss Sidney and Miss E Knodler, the founding Headmistress of Manly Girls’ High School.  Miss Knodler was succeeded by Miss M Simpson, who was Headmistress until 1975.
Old school 'oldies' - 50yrs on. Not looking too bad I reckon.
No Pennie MGH is no more. What Wiki says ....
Freshwater Senior Campus, or "Freshie" as it is locally known is a publicco-educational, senior high school and part of the Northern Beaches Secondary College. Although the campus is located within the suburb of Curl Curl, the school takes the name from the nearby beach ofFreshwater
The campus occupies the site former Freshwater High School. Freshwater High School was a co-educational year 7-12 school which was formed from the former Manly Boys' and Manly Girls' High Schools in 1983 on the girls' school site

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 192 - 12th July 2014 ... Interior

I've chosen 3 interiors .....
Firstly the interior of the office with my desk when Scott first installed it.
It was a major effort and I certainly couldn't have managed it without him.
It is built to last! It is also not so tidy now.
This is the interior of our tent behind the camper when we went camping to Shoalhaven Heads last year. We have another tent now - one with a proper waterproof roof!
I love this shot.
I'm not sure who took it as I was away when the chorus celebrated Christmas in July last year.
This is carols by candlelight in the interior of our rehearsal hall.

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 191 - 11th July 2014 .... Gold.

Should have kept the gold fish for this one.
We found these 'trees' in the flower market in a Hong Kong.
They were gold coloured along with the other gold and red decorations everywhere for
Chinese New Year. I'm told they are for good luck.
Don't know what they are - maybe tomatoes?

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 190 - 10th July 2014 .... Sharp

Look at this fellow you reckon his beak and claws might be SHARP??
Not my photo but a beauty eh?
I have taken some good ones of the Wedgies by the road kill on outback roads.

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 189 - 9th July 2014 .... Alive

Here's a pond ALIVE with fish!
Heaps of them....
At the Moana Mall in Hawaii
Scott's underwater picture from his cruise - again 'alive' with fish.

Wheat stubble, blue skies and the Nandewar Range outside of Narrabri.

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 185 - 5th July 2014 .... On the table

Here is 'Boy' drawing 'on the Table'.
Don't you love the 'smock'?
He was painting too and this is Maureen's painting dress.

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 184 - 4th July 2014 .... Stars

Here's some 'STARS' (including moi!) post performance at Dapto Ribbonwood a couple of years ago.
And it's the Fourth of July.
Here's Evie Duck's (my great niece who is living with her parents in USA) patriotic breakfast ... Stars and Stripes.
Cool eh?

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 183 - 3rd July 2014 .... Match

Matching 'legs up!' - Trace and Nick having fun on the ice last night.
Trace says it was a photo bomb - have to check that out.
Guess it's the guy behind them.
Hmmmm ... (verb)- to drop in a photo unexpectedly...to hop in a picture right
before it is taken.

Where's the pot o'gold?
At THE END of the rainbow!

PHOTO-A-DAY DAY 179 - 29th June 2014 .... delight

I have been deliberating about what brings me delight.
I love the GSs and family but can't say that they always delight me so I've left this spot 'vacant' for a while.
Last night I saw this amazing photo online and I must say I felt delighted when I saw it.
It was taken at Fairy Pools on the Isle of Sky in Scotland - now isn't that
a delight to the eye?
The day we went there it was cold and raining and we saw NOTHING  :-(
