Day 56 - Sunday 24th February - the day the sky fell in!
Well not quite but almost.
We had very heavy rain overnight and I was sitting up in bed at around 3am looking at the Meteorological chart on my IPad and wondering if I should go out into the courtyard and move the bonsais and African Violets so they wouldn't get too wet from the overflow of the gutters. There was a sudden increase In the wind speed, a VERY loud bang and a tinkling of broken glass - then silence.
On investigation, I found one birdcage overturned, the courtyard filled with debris and tree branches and the roof missing! What a way to start the day!
Anyhow enough to say we have had a busy day cleaning up - no-one was hurt and by 6pm things were back in order. Our courtyard now has a 'beach' look!
A big thanks goes to Trace and Nick who came to the rescue.
Nick spent the day up on the roof replacing broken tiles and tarping to waterproof it before the rain started again tonight. He also fixed the garage door which had blown in - what a handy guy to have around.
We'll see what the insurance assessor says tomorrow and we can start planning our new roof (we hope).

Day 55 - not much sunshine today
Just lots and lots of rain.
I can hear frogs in the courtyard and the sound of running water from the roof.
Here's a photo from a sunny day in the south of France.
Une papillon.........

Day 49 - Monday 18th Feb.
Snap of the day!
Look at this fellow.
I think he might be a dragonfly nymph but not sure.
Saw him in the garden when I got out of the car - rushed in and got the camera and managed to click off a few macro shots.
Then thought I should consider doing manual settings for college and guess what?
He flew away while I was setting up the camera - sigh

Day 48 - Not happy Jan
A visit to the vet this morning and $140 later. Pain control, antibiotics and collar plus a Sunday consultation. She is not impressed but hopefully feels a bit better.
Day 47 - one miserable puppy
Saturday 16th February.
Poor little Chloe is feeling a bit sore and sorry.
We decide to take her with us to the highlands for David's 50th birthday party.
Here she is stretched out upside down on my lap.
Peter looses his battle this morning.
RIP Peter.

Day 46 - Chloe goes to the vet
Time for her 'Nip and Tuck'.
It will be interesting to see if it lowers her aggression to strange dogs.
If not it is off to the Naughty Dog School for her.
Here she is relaxed and dozing on my lap after her per-med.

Day 42 - meet Ron and Enid
This is Ron and Enid ..... our new Gouldian Finches.
We picked them up this morning in Dapto from a dear old couple called yes
you guessed it Ron and Enid.
He was 85 and had a big bank of avaries out the back and 'acres' of Old Mans Beard
hanging from the frangipani's all around the yard.
I would have preferred red heads but maybe I'll get a pair of them next year.
They are happily exploring their new cage and meetine their new room
mates - Mars and Venus the Star Finches.

Day 41 - a bright sunny day finishing with thunderstorms.
I covered a cushion for a chair for Zara for her birthday and spent some time catching
up with online friends.
We baby sat Noah - the Mogensen Boarder collie - he was fine until the thunder!
Not sure how to manage the barking - all my interventions failed except
the sit beside me rubbing his ears!

Day 39 - visiting Newcastle
Today Lee and I travelled up to Newcastle to catch up with family there.
Harry started school this week so it was very exciting to see Leelee and Mardie there when he got out of school today.
There they are!
We called to see Alison and Ryan along the way - maybe that will be tomorrow's photo.

Day 38 - my first experience at a Sushi Train!
Today I had to get some scripts filled so we decided to have lunch at the Square at somewhere 'different'. So we decided on the Sushi Train. Took me a while to discover how it all worked as there was a bit of a language barrier - aha I see - the plates are colour coded and individually priced. Oh well we'll give it a go. Blah - not for me I'm afraid. Had to go downstairs to have a coffee and donuts!!!
Day 37 - Walking at Minnamurra rainforest.

Day 36 - Tuesday 5th Feb
Today was my first day as school dropper offer.
We managed that ok and Kaelan had a good day at Mardies on his own.
He didn't last the distance tho going to sleep on the afternoon school run as you can see in todays photo. A bit photoshopped.

Day 35 - Monday 4th Feb
Today I sorted trading table stuff and took to Vinnies, packed up and posted tent to Vic and we had lunch at a cafe on Central Ave at Oak Flats. We faced the street and watched the world go by pretending we were in Paris! My photo okay is of a pet enclosure that Trace found at the Smith Family store in Wollongong. Very compact and light - should be great to use when camping. Doggies weren't too keen to get in but settled quickly with their beds.

Day 33 - rough weather in Wollongong
Lee tells me I am breaking the rules and I have to take the photo ON the day.
I am making my own rules and just doing a post a day (sometimes not even ON the day but later as a catch up when I get busy).
Here is a collage of the lighthouse of shots I took on Friday.
Day 33 is really Saturday 2/2/2013 - Trace and Nicks wedding anniversary.
